Planning a Great Coral Wedding

Coral, a beautiful and warm color, is a flattering shade of orange with enough pink in it. Try it mixed with a cool color or neutral for a traditional or ultra-modern wedding theme.
Coral roses bunched in low cut-glass bowls, on small tables covered in pistachio linen cloths over deep coral table skirts, color an elegant reception. Mix the light green and coral with alternating pistachio or coral bridesmaid dresses and coral or pistachio-dyed rose boutonnieres for the wedding party.
Stick to tradition, but do it your way with a white gown, accessorized with delicate coral flowers tucked into loosely upswept hair, coral satin sandals, and a bouquet of white and blush roses trailing coral and blush silk ribbons. Let your bridesmaids choose their styles in coral shades. Festoon the church pews with deep coral organza bows trailing ribbons, with a small sprig of lily of the valley or stephanotis caught in each bow. Serve up a confection of a wedding reception with the same bows on the backs of chairs and lots of white, coral and silver in the rest of the decor.
Coral and gray is sleek without being stark, sophisticated without being unimaginative. Calla lilies and coral peonies bound in silver-gray gossamer ribbons set the wedding color scheme at the ring ceremony. Spray leaves silver and gray for a centerpiece on each guest table with a single coral peony nestled in the leaves. Decorate the cake with real or icing coral roses and velvety gray leaves. The unconventional bride wears a swirling gray chiffon gown with an underskirt of coral that shows as she walks down the aisle and twirls on the dance floor.
Bright coral is a burst of tropical color to enliven a ceremony and reception. Flowers with a hint of flame include hibiscus, ranunculus and poppies. Mix them with blush roses or white lilies in a bridal bouquet. Turn up the heat at the reception with coral and hot pink ribbon streamers behind the gifts table, deep pink peonies and sprays of coral orchids as centerpieces, garlands of coral and hot pink daisies swagged across the front of the head table. Add silk-polyester banners hanging ceiling-to-floor, like tapestries, around the walls. Alternate loosely braided coral and deep peony gossamer "ribbons" with web-like tangles of narrow hot pink and bright coral grosgrain or silk ribbons on chair backs. Scatter coral and pink rosebuds, frangipani blossoms or bougainvillea flowers made of icing over the cake.
